From Nature's Prairie to Your Bath: Handcrafted Cajun Luxury

Every bar of soap tells a story. My soapmaker story began in the South Pacific, where as a young Navy servicewoman in her last couple years of her twelve year military career,  discovered a handcrafted soap in a tiny island shop that would change my life's path. The simple beauty and exceptional quality of that bar sparked a passion that would follow me across oceans and decades.

While serving on a ship overseas, I immersed myself in soapmaking books, building a library of knowledge and dreaming of the day I could transform natural ingredients into something extraordinary. When I finally crafted my first bar – a triple-infused calendula herb and honey soap with bergamot – I knew I'd found my calling.

Twenty-five years later, that passion has evolved into Cajun Prairie Soap Co., named by my Cajun husband for our home in Mamou, Louisiana, where the prairie stretches wide and inspiration grows wild. Here, surrounded by majestic white oaks, blooming magnolias, and cypress trees, nature guides our creations. The rich culture and indulgent flavors of Louisiana influence everything we craft, from our artisanal goat milk tallow soaps to our dessert-inspired bath treats.

From my naval days of studying soapmaking to now creating in the heart of Cajun country, every product is made with the same care and attention to detail as that first bar of soap that captured my imagination.
